OUR FARM 1973 |

Here is a picture of the farm... I'm in the picture, on the sidewalk by the house |

As you may know already, I am from Manitoba - born and raised.
I grew up on a small grain farm until I was thirteen and then we moved to "town" 10 miles away. That would be the French-Manitoba
town of St. Pierre-Joly. I lived there until I was 18, then moved on to the big city of Winnipeg.
I worked for Investors Group for 18 years before I decided it was
time to move on. A summer off in 2001 made me realize that I wanted to go into travel. Back to school ....
what an experience! I graduated with honours in 2002 and am now working for BTI Canada. I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I transfered to Calgary Office in August, 2004 and the move was stressful but well worth it! Alberta is a great place
to live and best of all.... I'm closer to David and Maureen and the kids!
My travels over the last few years have brought me closer to some
of the special people who have been there for me during my life changing journey. I met many of my special friends that I have met on the internet: My "sis" Terry, Linda and Bonnie
in South Carolina and Jeff in Wyoming. All of them have been there for me and I love them all dearly and thank
God that I have such terrific people in my life. You can see my trips in other pages on the site... and there are more
to come as I make some updates (much needed updates!!).
The most important thing to know about me is that I love people.
I like to meet new people and share ideas with them. I love to hear about where they are from and what they do. That's me
- that's who I am. I live in the now but remember the past fondly. My favorite saying is: I love the season that I'm in and
miss the season that just left.
The journey is over.... I've found my place. I would never have made it without
my friends and family... thank you.
So, anyway, that's me, that's who I am...

July 12, 1964 was the day that I entered this
beautiful yet troubled world... and that makes me a crab.... lol or better put I was born in the sign of Cancer, the Crab.

See that serious face... well I still have it. Even
if I'm in a great mood, if I don't have a smile on my face, I look sad. So I try to remember to keep a smile on my face.
I still hold my hands like that too... and yes, I look like my daddy....

This was me at 4 months, so November, 1964. I was just a little
thing when I was born 4 lbs 13 oz. I got to spend my first month in the hospital.. by myself, 'cause mommies didn't
stay with their kids back then. I used to spend a lot of time by myself in the hospital when I was a kid. In grade
two, I was out of school for almost 2 months and in the hospital for almost a month, part of that quarantined. It was
scary sometimes. Being sick and not having my parents there for me. Oh well, when I was really little, my dad
and I used to sit in his chair like this and have our naps....

Same Farm - 1997 Flood of the Century |

|
This is picture is taken facing the North not the south. |
Joyce and Donald.. yup my parents! Dad passed
away in 1995. Mom lives just 3 short (sob) blocks away. She lived in St. Pierre until 4 years ago, then sold the
house and moved to the big city. Actually, as the crow flies, she lives less than a block away..... enough said about
that... lol...
Hawaii, 1992... ain't it beautiful?

Otterbourne West Combined 4-H Club - I belonged to this club for 9 years (the number of my life geeez). For those of you who know nothing about 4-H,
well here is a site to go to www.4-H-Canada.ca/ I don't want to brag but we had a great club.
The organization is only as good as the leaders you have and we had some great role models in our club. "Learn to do by Doing"
is the motto of the Canadian 4-H and I still live by that motto. You can't learn without doing. I value the skills
I attained and the memories I have of all my years with 4-H. And yes, we used to actually march, in parades, showing
our uniforms and our banner and yes the marching used to be judged.... all part of discipline I guess. Our club won
or placed at every rally (and that is the truth).

I want this body back... **sob**... in the mid-80s, I went
through a really big transformation. I actually lost 75 lbs... through exercise and diet. I did really well up
until I quit smoking in 1993. Then I became me again. I was on the way to that me again when I got sick 2 years
ago. Oh well, I'm gonna keep trying.
Giddyup!!!!

Written in the Sand
A story tells that two friends
were walking through the desert. During some point of the journery, they had an argument, and one friend slapped the
other one in the face. The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, she wrote in the sand:
"TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED
ME IN THE FACE"
They kept on walking, until they
found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning,
but her friend saved her.
After she recovered from the
near drowning, she wrote on a stone:
"TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY
LIFE"
The friend, who had slapped and
saved her best friend, asked her,"After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?"
The other friend replied,"When
someone hurts us, we should write it in sand, where the winds of forgiveness can erase it away, but when someone does
something good for us, we must engrave it in stone, where no wind can ever erase it."
The lesson is that in life we
should learn to write our hurts in the sand and to carve our blessings in stone.
Consider my website stone.....
